Glorious Goodwood carries us into the weekend, with Friday’s card headed by the King George Qatar Stakes and the competitive Coral Golden Mile.
Saturday has a strong international feel. Goodwood stages the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, Galway features the BOYLE Sports Handicap Hurdle, and attention later turns to the United States for the Arlington Million Stakes at Colonial Downs.
The international action continues on Sunday. The German Oaks is the main attraction at Düsseldorf, while Del Mar stages the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes for fillies and mares. Closer to home, Chester’s feature is the Listed Queensferry Stakes.
The early part of next week is relatively quiet. Monday offers meetings at Naas, Cork, Ripon, Nottingham and Windsor, before Tuesday brings Flat racing from Ffos Las, Catterick and Lingfield, alongside a card at Roscommon in Ireland.
Looking further ahead, the next major target comes at the Curragh, where the Phoenix Stakes takes place on Sunday, 9 August.

Race Notes
3:00pm (Saturday 1st August) Lillie Langtry Stakes - Goodwood
The Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes has a familiar look, with the first three from last year’s race all returning to Goodwood. Waardah beat Danielle by three-quarters of a length in 2025, while Goodie Two Shoes finished third. It was Waardah’s first Group success, achieved after stepping up to this 1m6f distance.
Waardah is the 11/4 favourite and her course record makes her an obvious contender. She has raced only once this season, finishing second to Estrange over a shorter trip at Carlisle. That should have put her right for this, although the good-to-firm ground may not play to her strengths quite as much as last year’s softer surface.
There is also an important change from the 2025 race. Waardah received the three-year-old weight allowance when beating Danielle, but the pair now meet at level weights. That gives Danielle, available at 5/1, a strong chance of turning the result around. She returned with a Group 3 victory at York in May and has already shown that she handles Goodwood and stays the distance.
Santorini Star is another major player at 9/2. She has won twice at Group 2 level and has also finished second in two Group 1 races. Her latest Royal Ascot run was disappointing, but she used plenty of energy during the early part of that race and is better judged on her previous form.
Consent could be dangerous at 11/2 if returning to her best. She beat Santorini Star in France last autumn but finished well behind on her seasonal return. Goodie Two Shoes, priced at 15/2, was third in this race last year and arrives after another solid run at Fairyhouse.
Amelia Earhart is the only three-year-old and receives 10lb from the older runners. Ryan Moore rides, but she must prove that she stays 1m6f after finishing fifth in the Irish Oaks. Little Dorrit completes the field and faces a clear rise in class.

The biggest move in the early betting for next month's Juddmonte International Stakes at York comes from Item, who has been backed into 10/1 after being available at 25/1 earlier in the market.
The Andrew Balding-trained three-year-old earned that support with an impressive victory in last Saturday's Sky Bet York Stakes. Under Rob Hornby, Item recovered after briefly being outpaced before producing a strong finish to lead inside the final furlong and pull clear by 2¾ lengths.
That performance has prompted bookmakers to significantly shorten his odds for one of York's showpiece races.
